HIGH RESOLUTION DISC
Each wedding package includes a high resolution disc off all photos with a copyright release form. This is another way of saying that you get to keep the negatives. However, each file or digital negative has been color corrected and have had at least “basic editing” or “proof version”. All photos that I use for my Blog or Website that have been “Enhanced” further will also be on your high res disc. Your disc will also include versions of any additional enhancements that I may do for select photos that go in your wedding album.
Each file is numbered and will correlate with the numbers from the Hard Back Proof Book. This will make finding your photos from your disc easy and organized.
When you receive your disc (which is after you choose your pics for your album … see “FAQs”) you will receive your Copyright Release Form … and … I will give you some valuable tips on how to get professional prints. You will also receive several Pro Lab References. This is HUGE ! One of the reasons that we are able to get accurate prints is because my studio monitors have been color calibrated with several pro labs. This means that we can be sure what the prints will look like before ordering.
One of the biggest mistakes that you can make is taking your wedding pics to a local “one hour lab” or any “discount style department stores”. First, this style of photo lab does NOT use the same grade of pro photo paper that our recommended labs use. Next, their printers have NOT been color calibrated with my monitors. These labs may be great for your party pics, vacation and everyday pics. However, you are paying a lot of money for a professional photographer … please don’t shortcut on the printing … and never, NEVER let any lab do color corrections on our wedding photos. Always choose, “Do Not Color Correct” or choose, “Print As Is”. I have already spent many hours editing all of your proofs.
So when you receive your disc from me you can be assured that all of the work has been done for you. Just go ahead and order your photos.

ABOUT THE COPYRIGHT RELEASE FORM

Exactly what is a Copyright Release Form ?

A Copyright Release Form gives a specific person(s) permission to use the images for personal use, such as making prints, other photo products, and using images for their own personal websites (ie: Face Book, My Space, etc …).
Per federal law, David Daigrepont Photography owns the copyrights and the copyright release form gives the purchaser of the disc permission to use the digital negatives for personal use only.

What exactly can I not do with the digital negatives ?

First, you cannot let any other person use your copyright release form, nor can you sell or transfer the form to anyone else. You cannot distribute copies of the disc or any of the individual files in any way to any other person. You cannot give any of the digital files to another vendor, wedding magazine, wedding advertising website, etc … However, in most cases David Daigrepont will be more than happy to authorize permission and submit photos on your behalf.
Other than basic cropping and resizing you cannot make any edits or changes to any of the images.
