Chateau Promo: Part 1

This fall season we planned on doing a couple of “Post Session” style sessions for Chateau Estates Country Club. They have beautiful facilities for weddings and functions both inside and outside of the club. As a last minute model I decided to get the most beautiful girl that I know … my very own daughter, Renee …. and significant friend Neil.

Here’s a few of my favorites :

Jeanee’ & Joseph Newlywed Post / TTD Session

For those brides who have worked with me know that I will gladly suggest doing some type of Post Session and combine it with a TTD session. So when Jeanee’s mom called me she pitched a general concept for the shoot. They wanted something romantic … something that still fit in the “New Orleans” theme … and something both indoors (in the air condition :-)  and some low lit outdoor shots at night time. Other than staying in this general theme she told me that I can have full say so regarding shots and locations. Oh my, did that make me happy ! So after a bit of brainstorming, several hotel suite reservation changes, and finding a good “rain location” (that will make sense later) we were set and ready for the shoot. Jeanee’ and Joseph were absolute troopers for this double portrait session which lasted several hours. I have to thank the family members who worked together with me as a team. A Few Memorable 2008 Moments

I thought that I’d post about 20 or so photos from some fine moments during 2008. However, since many of my favorite shots from 08 are on the Main Website … I thought that I’d pick a few others that didn’t get on the main site. We are already a few days into 2009, so I wanted to quickly choose a few pics that I liked from this past year   …   the problem that I had is that I started out with over one hundred fav’s … so I quickly went through the list of 100 and started selecting mostly at random. Some were posted on the old blog and some were not. As I look back at the couples and families that I had the privilege to work with over the past year I have to say that 08 was one of the best years to date. A huge Thank You to all of the good people that I worked with this past year !!!

Again, here’s just a very small portion of good moments from a great 2008 !

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR A GREAT 2008 !!!!

Danielle & Noel Wedding, Destination New Orleans !

Last week I had one of the best opportunity weddings to photograph and a great way to end the 08 season. Danielle, Noel, and about 100 of their family and friends all came into town from Texas for a classic destination New Orleans wedding.  The first thing that made me smile is when Danielle told me that she loves taking pictures and wants a lot of them … and … forget tradition  :-)  Since everything took place at one location in the heart of the French Qter, this was a perfect situation for a “FIRST SIGHT” pre wedding session.  A few hours prior to the ceremony the Maison Dupry Hotel had arranged a private courtyard for Danielle and Noel to see each other for the first time in the wedding dress and tuxedo. After documenting this private special moment between the bride and groom, we proceeded with a Newlywed Post style photo session along the back streets of the French Qter. The cool weather complemented a beautiful courtyard ceremony followed by a reception with all of the cajun classic foods including table side bananas foster. The night ended after everyone followed the jazz band around the French Qter for one big ‘ol second line. Danielle and Noel , you guys did good, real good ! Thank you for choosing me to document this awesome wedding !  (here’s just a few of many many shots)

Vicki & Michael Newlywed Post Session

I’ve said a bunch of times … I love shooting these Post Wedding Sessions. It’s the perfect complement of photos for the primary album or as a secondary book all by itself. Vicki and Michael made my job easy as we walked through the French Qter.   A special prop to my lovely daughter for being my part time “light girl”.  This session ended fittingly on the river front … since Michael is a captain for one of those monster size boats that travel offshore. Here’s just a few of my favorites.
